I Am Not Ready To Face Arsenal With Another Club – Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger has admitted that he is “not ready” to face off against Arsenal with another club.

Arsene Wenger officially brought down the curtain on his 22-year managerial spell with the North London outfit on Sunday afternoon with a 1-0 win over Huddersfield Town.

Wenger has already been approached by a number of sides, including offers from Premier League teams, but the 28-year-old has hinted that his next job will lie away from English football.

Asked about the prospect of coming up against Arsenal in the future, Wenger told reporters: “I’m not ready for that at the moment. That would be very difficult. I don’t envisage that at the moment.

“I had offers, yes of course, but I did not speak to anybody. I had many offers. When you come out of such a long process you cannot jump out the next morning and go to work somewhere else. It’s impossible.

“Herbert Chapman – maybe our greatest manager – was from [Huddersfield]. For me to come here on the last day had a special meaning when you know the history of our club. There was a photo just in front of the dressing room, where Chapman smiled at me because he was on the photo."

Long-serving boss Wenger leaves Arsenal with a record of 707 wins, 280 draws and 248 defeats.
